On Guard at Villa Rondiso

Count von Balderdash, secretary of war for Monrovia, had come under immense scrutiny following the failed attempts by Monrovia over the last couple of  campaign seasons to successfully invade and annexe Zomverre and Pelardon; there were allegations of skimming funds, accepting bribes, awarding fake contracts etc. Fearing for his liberty the Count decided to escape across the border into Wittenberg.

After getting into Wittenberg territory he had been picked up by the authorities and was being held at Villa Rondiso, near Kirkhof, under guard awaiting transport to take him to the capital.

The Monrovians have kept tabs on the whereabouts of the Count -
they want him back to put on trial for treason

Project Board

Been busy recently making buildings for my Romans V Celts project; having a sort out at the moment tidying  a few things away etc. Today decided to clean off and redo my project whiteboard, this keeps a list of main things I'm planning to do for my hobby projects -
All done and annotated (C=cast, Conv=Converted, B=Bought). I feel re-organised now - don't know how long that will last though .... Plenty to do for 18C, just sorting out what to work on next.

Lifting Bridge on the River Oudear

A small boat with barge in tow, moors up below the bridge, they pay the toll and now have to wait for the bridge to be lifted...
The laborious task of lifting the bridge starts ...
The bridge has been lifted, boat and barge pass through..
The bridge is down again and back to normal use ...

still bridge building ....

Still working on the bridge; had some difficulty trying to find the best way to represent the lifting ropes and winding gear - eventually settled for florists wire for the ropes and the winding gear using a ships wheel (the rope is wound on drums inside the bridge pier)- shown here in raised position with some 28mm figs..

Bridge Building - working on the 2nd bridge

I've been working on a second alternative bridge to use with the piers/ramps used on the one shown in the previous post. This will be a 'lifting' bridge, have made the basic parts of the bridge, shown below with the 40mm chaps
It won't be a working model, but will have indication of the ropes and winding mechanism, I'll probably have two configurations for it one down and one raised.
