Some Smugglers and Civilians...

Added a few more figures to the collection; I bought some painted figures off Ebay which I've re-based; a nicely painted selection with a group which would make up a nice band of smugglers for activities along/across the river Oudear..

and a couple of civilians...

Fencing and Walling - quick refurb...

I had some scenery out for a WW2 game and noticed some Warhammer walls and fencing languishing in the box; I thought it would be a good idea to give them a little tlc...

Fencing given a dry brush of light brown and the edges of the bases changed to a lighter colour..
The stone walls were re-painted a light grey and dry brushed with a darker shade of grey, also the edges of the bases changed to a lighter colour
both the walls and fencing now looking much better and ready for their next outing ....

Begovians.. all together now ...

Having finished the last replacement units, the Begovian army is up to full strength; before working out the potential campaign scenarios I thought it would be nice to lay the whole army out on the game table ...

Visiting the vineyard ...

King Leopold and his son, along with some members of the court are on a visit to the nearby Klosterhauschen vineyard.

After their walk round, they headed up to the main house and to the cellars for a wine tasting ...

---oXo---

The vineyard scenic pieces shown above were made recently, info on how I made them here: https://ww2tanksalot.blogspot.com/2022/06/making-vineyard.html

Refurbishing some rough ground scenic pieces....

After using some rough ground scenic pieces for a recent game,  I noticed before putting them away that some of them look rather tired - somewhat faded (too many little feet running over them in the past few years..)

So a little refurb and improvement needed, initially gave them a refresh of the bare ground areas and then added some new static grass and some other mixed scatter.
One finished and looking better..
I have some Woodland Scenics water product left, perhaps a little pool of water on a couple of the pieces would look good..
After that I found some spare grass tufts, on they went; finished ...
I like this one the most ....
The sections mixed with my pond and small marsh sections on part of a game mat - a nice bit of moorland...

Kapikulu - Elite Begovian Cavalry

Finished a unit of my new Kapikulu castings for the  Begovian army; hopefully all the Wittenberg troops will see will be the rear view ...

From the front ...
Formed up with their heavily armoured chums ..

Windmill

Dusted off my old Airfix (Dapol) windmill, applied some tlc and weathered it a bit; followed by giving it a smaller footprint base.

First lot of figures from the new moulds for the Begovians have been cast and I have made up the command figures for the Janissaries...

and a unit of cavalry ...

New Janissary and Kapikalu sculpts ....

Finished the sculpts for the new look Begovian (Ottoman) Janissary infantry in long coat and the Kapikalu cavalry

A comparison between the new chaps and the old 'generation 1' version (one of my first sculpts 6 years ago);  definitely an improvement ...
The cavalry figure, new rider fitted temporarily with lance...

as usual the photos show the imperfections up, a few tweaks to do before the mould making commences.

They Projects ....

A round up of my gaming projects; so lets see whats cooking ...

The Kingdom Of Wittenberg

Currently in the planning stage for the next part of the Begovian War (the 40mm collection will be in action again); before it kicks off the Begovians will receive an uplift in the shape of some new look Janissary infantry and Kapikulu cavalry; sculpts started (I wasn't going to do another mould but why not 😀 ).  I will probably do a couple more border skirmish style games before the campaign kicks off.

Samurai - Sengoku Period (40mm)

Casting (and assembly) continues for the Samurai armies.. command and most of Ashigaru prepped for painting;  samurai both on foot and mounted still to be done

All the basic scenery has been completed and a load of figures including peasants, bandits and samurai - enough for a run through of a seven samurai  'Defend the Village' style game, which I've just started playing through

Somewhere in France (Somewhere in England)

Just finished sorting out some French buildings to use for games..

currently working on story lines and possible scenarios for games.

Carry On Chaps

The sequence of games around the pyramidion artifact, last game was set at an airfield

is now coming to a close; last game will be attack on the Villains Lair (the table layout and scenario remain undefined).

For Ye Kinge (40mm)

Simmering on the backburner, designing a campaign - concept: Wittenberg will try to seize the Hoflandt,  Saxe-Jarlsberg and Monrovian will try to hold it.

These chaps have been waiting way too long to get into action on the table ... Scots mercenary regiment..

The Nothelm Chronicle

No big additions planned to the dark ages Saxons and Vikings, although always a favourite for a game; from the last battle...

Medieval Knights (40mm)

A tinker-time project, so far have sorted through the figures I bought off Ebay and a few I already had.  The forest outlaws are ready for play ...

hmm! .. plenty to keep me busy - game on 😎  🎲
