Count Hermann Munster (the chancellor), gives final instruction to Mlle Givenchy and Colonel Hofler before they depart for area to the south of the Sackwald forest to investigate a possible resurgence of the Brethren of the Wolf.
Some of Mlle Givenchy's lady Irregulars have already gone ahead to start gathering intelligence.....

Meanwhile a messenger has arrived at the residence of the Royal Huntsman, Count Heinrich Rheinhard, to deliver the orders from the King for him to track and kill the Sackwald Beast.
later that day the Count Rheinard is on his way with his two trusty assistants and his dog Otto.....
