Action at Silanok

Count Boritzy's column has left Skantanz and headed eastwards for a rendezvous at Mintano with General Waldebecks column; on their way they are confronted by a small Begovian force at the village of Silanok....

---oXo---

Colonel Hofler rides up to check on the deployment of the enemy reported by the advance scouts..

The enemy have set up a defensive position straddling the road through the village of Silanok...
In the distance further down the road are more Begovians, some infantry and cavalry....
Count Boritzy arrives with the rest of the column.... Hofler's pandours start to move around the flanks of the enemy's position...
Count Boritzy issues orders and the Zinzendorf grenadiers to form up ....
and start their advance; Hofler's pandours are already exchanging pot shots with the Begovians ....
The grenadiers moved up into close musket range and exchange volleys with the Begovians...
each side lost some men, but the Begovians stand firm ....
The grenadiers charge forward to assault the Begovians defences, as the pandours moved forward ...
The Begovians eventually out-matched by the grenadiers and being flanked by the pandours decided to withdraw...

and setup another line of defence someway out of the village ....
The Wittenberg troops cleared the village and started moving forwards, bringing up some cavalry to support the infantry...
the pandours deployed their small field piece as well....
Count Boritzy orders the cavalry forward them to clear away the Begovian opposition on the flanks,

While the grenadiers form up to fire on the next Begovian position.....
The Hussars beat their opponents and chase after them ....
On the other flank the Begovian cavalry beat the Wittenberg provincial cavalry and then run into the rest of the hussars led my Count Boritzy...
The Hussars slowly push them back.....
The Begovian infantry in the centre withdraw down the road....
the Begovian cavalry disengage from the Hussars and make a run for it, while on the other flank the rest of the Hussars having chased the cavalry away turn on the infantry ....

the Begovians are in full retreat...
