The Monrovian grenadiers hurriedly formed line and faced the threat of the cavalry, as a regiment of Noverre infantry moved up to protect their flank; von Kessing tried and failed to get the Fenwick cavalry to advance in the face of the opposing infantry.
General Zeinite had rallied the rear regiment and consolidated the Monrovian position; with no cavalry or artillery he could not move forward and would have to wait for the main body of the army...
As the advance of the Monrovian vangaurd had been halted, Von Kessing ordered his force to withdraw down the road to Lagerheim to join with the rest of the Fenwick army...

Action order:
To simulate fog of war and the problems of units getting in the way of others; units were allocated a playing card. The card pack was shuffled thoroughly and cut at the start of each move. Units can only move and fire when their card comes up; if charged they can respond (counter charge for cavalry)....

Well done Alan! Colorful, compelling and fog of war via card draw/unit.
Naturally the white coats must win!
