They are very nicely done. Painting them according to the regulations set out for a historical country indeed gives you great latitude with how to use them. I'm pretty certain you must be quite happy with the final product.
Lovely figures and units! And also great to see some blue-coated units of the era that are NOT Prussians. Lots of color and variety among the other statelettes of Germany back then.
