---oXo---
Late one morning an out of breath woodsman arrives. After catching his breath and taking a drink of water, the woodsman tells the officer on duty that Begovians have been seen crossing the border in the nearby forest ....
The dragoons march out on foot to secure the bridge over the river Dunner .....
A dragoon has mounted up (on one of the few horses at the outpost) and is going to the nearest town to see if some of the militia can turn out to help, then on to report to the nearest garrison of regular troops ....
The Begovians are out of the forest and into more open ground....
The Begovians approach the bridge over the river Dunner.... the dragoons are marching towards them ...
The dragoons reach the bridge first and start to deploy ...
The Begovians fire at the dragoons and charge, aiming to take and hold the bridge....
The dragoons hold the charge and the fight continues ....
The dragoons are just holding on, some of the local militia are coming to their aid ....
As the local militia arrive, the dragoons try and push forward ...
The dragoons with support from the militia get the better of the Begovians who turn tail
The bridge over the river has been secured
Later that day a section of mounted jagers arrive to help patrol the local forest border area (they will be based in Dunnerhof with the dragoons).
