40mm: Wittenberg - Battalion Guns and Dragoons.

General Waldebeck continues with his busy round of inspections, firstly watching firing practice by the new regimental battalion guns.
 Then on to inspect the new dragoon regiment, who have recently received new uniforms, guidons, and a kettle drummer..

      The battalion guns are made up from spares; comprising some old hinchcliffe napoleonic french gun carriages, with plastic lego wheels and a couple of suitable gun barrels.

      The 40mm boys will be in action again once their usual opponents from Saxe-Jarlsberg army has been rebuilt - I've got about 70 figs of infantry to paint and 30+ cavalry to sort out.

    Really very impressive unit, I adore it! You composed miniatures of different manufacturers, didn´t you?
    They look so coherent and beautiful and so many details added - really a great joy to look at!

      I'm really pleased with this unit of dragoons - it all came together nicely. The bulk of the unit is made up of Irregular Miniatures austrian dragoons on Creartec home cast horses; officers mainly have Front Rank heads. The kettle drummer and commanding officer's body came out of my spares box; I think the kettle drummer's body was from Irregular marlburian range and the commanding officer's from Matthias Manske.
