Brigands !

A little solo game using 40mm figs. The supply train encounters brigands on the way south ....

--- 0Xo ---

The supply train leaves Rottenhausen (after spending the night there); they are halfway to Vanderhof ...

They make good progress and start to slow up a bit as the day goes on ...

Brigands ! shouts the supply train commander, form up !

The garrison troops form a hasty line to protect the supply train from the brigands who are nearly upon them ...

The two sides exchange fire and a few are hit on both sides. Things are looking tricky for the supply train ....

What, who's this - its the Kings Jager company commanded by Captain Scharfe. They have been traking the progress of the supply train and looking out for an attack by brigands, they emerge from the woods ....

The accurate fire of the Jagers fell many of the nearby brigands....

The brigands attacking the supply column realise the danger they are in and start to turn ...

The brigands having suffered heavy casualties make a run for it ....

--oXo--
Afterwards ..
The Kings Jager company follow up and pick a few more brigands off , then return to escort the supply train to Vanderhof.

40mm: Supply Train for Vanderhof

A supply train leaves regularly from Ottenheim for Vanderhof. Here we see it on route, it is protected by a company of garrison troops and some jagers.

A closeup look at the pack mules and horses (these are the ones I converted from some toy horses and donkeys - http://tidders-kingdomofwittenberg.blogspot.com/2009/08/40mm-pack-ponies-and-mules-conversion.html).

Palace Interior (4) - The 'Short' Gallery

My 'generic' interior room is now finished, here it is as the short gallery. Clock, picture frames and carpet are from Dolls House suppliers; furniture is from the pack I recently bought.

The Duke and Duchess or Fenwick are visiting again and have gone to see the newly refurbished 'short' gallery. They admire the two recently acquired paintings by Poussin.

They engage in a conversation with a two of the Queen's ladies in waiting about how nice the short gallery is now ...

they then look up to enjoy the newly finished painting on the ceiling by Tiepolo ...

Palace Garden - a little addition

I had some balustrade pieces in the 'minibrix' I bought a while back and was about to throw them out when I realised they would make a nice improvement to the garden of my palace diorama. The garden with balustrade pieces added:

Lawless times in the south of Upper Belgravia

The south of Upper Belgravia is plagued by highwaymen, they sometimes carry out their nefarious activities further north and also in the province of Boldovia.
Hand over your money !

Another problem is smugglers on the river Oudear, moving goods across the river to avoid duty on both sides of the border...

Hurry up and get this stuff unloaded before the River Marines get here
[figs: Mix of manufacturers; mostly Foundry with some from Blue Moon; the mounted highwaymen are from Outpost Wargames Services]
