Improving picture quality ... New camera

My digital camera, a Canon PowerShot 710s, had given good service for the last 10 years, but was becoming more temperamental ( a bit like me 😉); so have bought myself a new camera - a Canon PowerShot SX540HS with oodles more megapixels and focus/zoom
test photos so far are much improved; better lighting and depth. Still there are loads of extra buttons on this one - I will have to read the full manual sometime 😏

pruning the tree ...

not another post about the palace garden ...

Looking back through my blog history archive ( ~850 posts, over nearly 11 years) - there is a lot of dross - so it will be removed -  I will keep the best bits. The aim is to keep the game reports, posts supporting the campaign PDFs, key story lines and useful modelling stuff.

Update (22/03). Finished trawling through the posts; trimmed down now to ~720 posts; with labels applied as needed for Palace, Modelling, Game_Report and Sculpt&Cast. Spring clean ended 😀

40mm Sculpt and Cast - Begovian additions...

With enough compound to make another mould, I decided to add a couple more items for the Ottoman style Begovian army. A heavy cavalry man with mail coat, modifying my generic light cavalry figure, which could be armed with sword or lance

An infantry figure, based on the advancing one, some type of balkan allied infantry; could be used in 17C as a dismounted croat as well
will be working on the mould over the coming week....😀

More infantry for the Begovian army ....

More Begovian infantry have been finished; three more janissary units,  two in 'dress uniform'. Also the first command stand

having painted my way through my stash of infantry castings, onto the cavalry next ....

Zinzendorf provincial troops ...

General Waldebecke had been hard at work improving the forces available to him to defend the Zinzendorf province. The King had made extra money available to allow the provincial companies to be expanded into battalions; plenty of recruits were available from two disbanded regiments many of whom had served in the Hoflandt campaign.

The general has collected the bulk of his forces together near Pulverstadt for some field manoeuvres, forming up for line of march etc....
the little army on the move in line of march column...
 feldjager scouts out in front...
jagers in front of the main column ....
the regular regiment leads the column with uhlans on either side ....
the four provincial battalions form the main body of the column with the artillery in the middle ....

the dragoon regiment is at the rear of the column ....
absent from the field manoeuvres are Hofler's pandours who are on border patrol with the local militia companies.

Begovian cavalry ...(WIP)

Finally finished all the prep work on the 40mm ottoman cavalry castings for the Begovian army, 16 armed with sword (using Fronk Rank 28mm sabres); 16 Spahis armed with lance + a command stand

these will be next in the painting queue; when all the infantry are done and based (3 units in progress: one to complete painting and two to have their bases done.)
