progress with 40mm home-cast figures ...

A lot of time recently has been taken up with finishing masters and getting some moulds made. I've completed the moulds for the draught horse and marching musketeer... and I've been doing some trial castings - I'm pleased that they've turned out nicely

that marching musketeer mould is going to be busy, I'll be converting some of the castings to make new masters for Officer, standard bearer, NCO, drummer, grenadier and fusilier.

Peace with Saxe-Jarlsberg...

The King of Wittenberg meets the Herzog of Saxe-Jarlsberg at a country house near Marianstadt in the Hoflandt.

 Here they will sign a peace accord, wherein Saxe-Jarlsberg recognises the Hoflandt as a sovereign part of the Kingdom of Wittenberg. In return their merchants will re-gain trading priviliges in Vanderhof and the trade routes through to Saxe-Jarlsber will re-open. In addition the two countries agree to work together to meet the rising threat of Begovia from the south.

General Waldbeck commander of troops in the Hoflandt is to become the Governor of the province of Zinzendorf which borders part of Begovia; troop re-deployments are pending ....

The mule train .....

Captain Scharfe and a detachment of the king jagers are taking a mule train carrying the money to pay the border patrol troops via a backroad ...somehow the information about the money transfer has reached the ears of Serrani's maurauders who have decided to intercept the mule train .....

The jagers with the mule train move along a drove road ...

 Serrani's maruaders work their way up the road .....

 Serrani with the lead group takes up position behind the hedge, having seen the mule train; more of his men work their way across the fields ...

 Serrani and his men open fire, the jagers return fire and start to move the mule train into cover as best they can ...

 Serrani and his men move forwards as the jagers hug the hedge line, both sides exchange fire...

However the jagers are not on their own, the grey rider and some mounted jagers are nearby and hear the gun fire, they set off down the road ....

 also parallel and a bit further along are Mademoiselle Givenchy's Irregulars, who move quickly towards the road coming up behind the rest of Serrani's Marauders ...

 The mounted jagers arrive and catch Serrani and some of his marauders in the road ....

The Irregulars deal with the rest of the Marauders .....

 who eventually have had enough and make a run for it .....

 Serrani has been captured and is lying down wounded in the road under guard ...

 meanwhile the Irregulars chase off the last of the Marauders ...

The Grey rider, Captain Scharfe and Mlle. Givenchy meet up to discuss the capture of Serrani and the dispersal of his marauders...
