Initially I practiced on some old spare figures, I seem to have the knack of doing it now - but occasionally I mess one up. tiddershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05238717340071258010noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3847642874691038657.post-49937553184242661072014-10-17T10:36:12.524-07:002014-10-17T10:36:12.524-07:00Your right those 54mm romans are from an Asterix s...Your right those 54mm romans are from an Asterix set. Overall terrained bases for gaming is the best compromise.tiddershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05238717340071258010noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3847642874691038657.post-78150925593154010992014-10-17T01:30:22.697-07:002014-10-17T01:30:22.697-07:00Many many years ago I experimented with clear pla...Many many years ago I experimented with clear plastikard bases for my plastic WW2 in the days of airfix. With plastic it was relativley easy and not too much blood spilled but I bottled it when thinking about doding the same for my plastic Afghans - there were quite a few . Not sure I'd want to do it for whole armies . - especially as they don't spend much time on stonework of roads Big Andyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17235478427317774609noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3847642874691038657.post-27207574638695350262014-10-16T12:11:05.364-07:002014-10-16T12:11:05.364-07:00Thet do look good, and very versatile. Just a quick query, how do you remove the metal bases without too much distress (to self and model)?joppyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06334867727613848852noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3847642874691038657.post-16685732723834699172014-10-15T20:43:18.977-07:002014-10-15T20:43:18.977-07:00I think the clear bases, whether cut from plastic ...I think the clear bases, whether cut from plastic packaging or commercially produced, work well for the varied ground surfaces, floorings, etc., you place them on for vignettes. And as long as the figures don't have or are cleared of molded on bases. I like those 54mm Romans. They seem somewhat "Asterix-ish".<br />I have mixed bases on many of my figures - many are flocked, but some are molded to look like stone floors or sandy beaches or other surfaces. That'll have to do for general gaming figures for me.Fitz-Badgerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15510866929782142007noreply@blogger.com
