Back from hols ...

Have been on holiday for the last two weeks; a quiet hols spent in Worcester (UK) with trips out to places of interest.

Some 18C related highlights were the Worcester porcelain museum; the early porcelain was interesting; the first commemorative issue was in 1757 celebrating the victory of Frederick the Great and his army at Rossbach, with such items as plates, mugs and even a tankard

Also visited Hanbury Hall, and early 18C stately home with formal gardens, of particluar interest were the wall paintings by James Thornhill

  1. Amazing parterre at Hanbury, I look forward to seeing a similar one created at the Wittenberg palace perhaps?

  3. Also a particularly nice orangerie. I believe the inspiration for the Archers was the village of Hanbury
