Pesky paint pot lids ...

The new style GW /Citadel paint pots were really annoying me. I could not get the lids to stay open, I tried bending the hinge back etc no joy - so I deployed a small piece of wood dowel to keep the lid open .
Hah ! close now you £$*£^%£$....

  1. Handy tip.
Although these days I tend to use more Vallejo-type "dropper/squeezy bottle" paints. Or the older flip-top paints, like the OLD Citadel/GW paints (of which I still have a fair number - some of which are at least 15 or 20 years old!). All of my more recent GW paints dried up long ago (when they used a hard plastic top that did not seal well).

  2. I'm careful with Vallejo-type "dropper/squeezy bottle" paints after a clogged top was oversqueazed resulting in red paint explosion !

  3. Now that you mention it, I had that explosion happen with a Vallejo bottle of their version of space wolf grey. I was picking spots off of primed figures for weeks. ha ha

  4. A good and simple solution. I have been doing the same. Like the new jars better but this lid thing was irritating until sorted.
