Heads Up ?

A comparision between head sizes of some figs. On the left Crusader, centre Creartec 40mm (from mould), on the right Fronk Rank.

The Creartec 40mm heads could be used for head swapping to other figure ranges to give some variety or for converting other figures to 18C to give them tricorne heads.

  1. And you've got alot of neck to make the cuts clean if that officer is any indication.

  2. P.S. They are probably decent matches size-wise for the 28mm because the 40mm are sculpted in truer proportion.

  3. I'm not familiar with Creartec . . . do they have an extensive 18th century line?

How expensive are their moulds? And what do you think of them?

  4. The Creartec moulds I bought were 22.95 Euros each.

The range is limited to Marching Grenadiers, Marching Officers, Mounted Officers, Cuirassiers, Hussars and Gun Crew.

You can see the range at

    then follow the 40mm link.

The mould halves need careful alignment and you need to be careful that you don't hold them together too tight when casting. On a couple of moulds I had to add some extra vents. Nice moulds to use and the figures look good when painted.
