Observation Corp - Muster Status

To: His august majesty Leopold IV

Your Majesty,

as you requested yesterday here is a brief summary of the mobilisation status of the regiments for the Corp of Observation

Chevaux-Leger Regiment mustered, new uniforms being issued.
Converged Grenadier Battalion mustering
Jager Battalion mustered, new uniforms being issued.

It looks like the Grenadiers will not be ready for some time as the parent regiments are still mustering and in some disarray. To provide a regular Infantry Battalion, I will order a Fusiler regiment from the Wittenland provincial army corp to take their place.
signed

Field Marshall, Duke Frederick of Wittenbuffel

Windmill Kit Info

1) the kit can be ordered from source at

http://www.dapol.co.uk/cgi-bin/dapol-direct/commerce.cgi?page=dapol00/kits.html

code : C016 Windmill

Also useful for Wargame buildings availabe from Dapol are

C020 Thatched Cottage
C029 Village Church

These kits can also be bought online from a number of other websites - just try googling "Dapol C016" for the windmill

2) the fan in the background of the picture in the previous post is to keep me cool, rather than turn the windmill's arms - although not a bad idea - could of worked if I hadn't of made a mess of glueing the fixing for arms so they don't move.

in the Windmill of my mind ...

Painting has been progressing slowly this week on the units for the Wittenberg corp of observation The Chevaux-Legers are getting close to being finished, light infantry is about halfway through; the line infantry battalion is ready for undercoating.
While ordering up some supplies, I saw the same website supplied the Dapol model railway lineside plastic kits, I indulged in the windwill (Dapol code C16), which I decided to make up as a break from painting figs.

New building ...

Sergeant Fritz Oberdorf while out patrolling spotted this nice building and reported it to the authorities - who promptly ordered its purchase. A super new building for my scenics, its a pottery night light holder (made in Germany?) - only £3 at my local car boot sale.

Work in progress ...

Horses for the Wittenberg Chevaux-Legers done, riders and the light infantry undercoated and started.
I've also got together the figures for command stands for the remaining Monrovian infantry battalions and the figures for the last cavalry regiment. I've decided to use the Sash and Sabre grenadiers I bought for the Monrovian foot guards and have ordered a replacement battalion from Front Rank for the Wittenberg corps of observation.

A muster camp has been setup for the Wittenberg Corps of Oberservation. An extra company of Garrison troops ordered to go to Heidelheim in Upper Belgravia are the first in the camp and being first there have been given the job of patrol and sentry duty.

Just arriving is a battery of artillery, made up from re-furbished galloper guns ..

and some supplies are being delivered ...

[figs : Garrison troops - Irregular Miniatures; Artillery - Front Rank, plus a couple of converted spare figures; Supply Wagon - Irregular Miniatures]

Town Wall and Tents

Finally got my town wall sections and gate painted and some scenics scatter added on the bases, I'm still looking more plastic castle parts to add more wall sections.

I've finished off 12 tents for my encampment (I'll maybe make some more later)....

Mustered ...

I've been afflicted with muscular problems in my neck and shoulders this week, so not much has been done at all.

Anyway the figures have arrived for the Wittenberg Corps of Observation, Chevaux Leger form Old Glory..
Grenadiers from Sash & Sabre...
Light Infantry from Front Rank
Now to get started on the painting.
